Project Title: In the eye of the swarm; Mapping the acoustic landscape of mosquito

Project Description: This project explores the acoustic landscape of -and acoustic behaviour within mosquito swarm. In the field, the research team will map the swarm’s sound emissions using custom-designed microphone/playback arrays in swarms of An. gambiae. In the lab, they will test the auditory (or behavioural) responses of individuals or group of males and females to recorded acoustic emissions from mosquito swarms to analyse if mosquito swarming behaviour can be disrupted using sounds.
